The Country House is on the same property as Fynbos Ridge Cottages. It is a large Cape Dutch design guest house and has 5 double bedrooms with full en-suite bathrooms, a dining room where breakfast will be served and optional dinners about 3 times a week. All unites have an LCD TV with satellite TV (DSTV) as well as DVD players. There's a large DVD library in the house.
Both the formal and informal lounges have fireplaces and there is a very long outdoor patio where guests can enjoy mountain views whilst having their breakfasts and dinners. Two of the double bedrooms have king-size beds and 3 of the other double bedrooms have 2 x 3 quarter beds which can either be made up separately or together creating large king-size beds whichever is preferred.
Fynbos Ridge prides itself in its 3 two-bedroom cottages and its Virgillia Studio. Each spacious cottage (140 sq. metres) is well equipped, has 2 bathrooms and sleeps up to 6 people in luxury and comfort. Apart from the tasteful furnishings, there are log fires in the lounge and main bedroom for the cooler evenings, as well as a private patio with a built-in barbecue. Each cottage, and the studio apartment, is named after one of the beautiful indigenous flowers.
The equally well appointed one-bedroom Virgilia Studio(70 sq. metres) is situated above the main homestead. It has its own private entrance, queen-size bed, one bathroom with bath and shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with a barbecue. Spacious and exceedingly comfortable, it offers an alternative to singles and couples not requiring the extra accommodation offered by the cottages.
Although the cottages are fully equipped for self-catering, substantial and delicious continental breakfasts can be provided on request. In typical Fynbos Ridge tradition we are happy to do any basic shopping you may require prior to your arrival. Plettenberg Bay boasts a wide variety of excellent restaurants from which you can choose to dine at.
Another service which is proving increasingly popular brings one-on-one gourmet wizardry to the kitchen in your cottage. Our visiting expert will buy the ingredients which you have chosen with her and will show you how to turn them into a delicious meal. Then she will leave you to enjoy it.
